Passport, Immigration & Citizenship Agency (PICA)
Yes, they can. The parent(s) of the child should present to PICA their:
- Jamaican Birth Certificate – (for persons born in Jamaica)
- Jamaican Adoption Certificate – (for persons adopted in Jamaica)
- Jamaican Citizenship Certificate – (for persons who acquire citizenship other than birth or adoption).
- Parent/s Jamaican passport
- Two (2) passport size photographs of child or children- to be notarized by a notary public ( from overseas)
There are specific countries that do not offer dual citizenship. However, there is a process called “Unconditional Landing Stop” where you must be a descendant of Jamaica. To attain this status, you must provide:
- Proof of yourself and mothers birth certificates
- Passport
- Pay a PICA fee of $10,000 JM
This will allow you stay in the Jamaica for extended period.
